A business development manager's job is to grow a business by identifying new opportunities, building relationships, and increasing revenue:
- Research: Research new markets, trends, and customers, and look for new ways to reach existing markets.
- Identify leads: Generate leads and pursue them through the sales cycle.
- Build relationships: Build and maintain relationships with customers, clients, partners, and suppliers.
- Make proposals: Develop quotes and proposals for new clients.
- Set goals: Set goals for the business and business development team, and develop plans to meet those goals.
- Forecast revenue: Make sales projections and forecast revenue.
- Plan equity investments: Help plan equity investments.
- Form partnerships: Form partnerships.
